Exchange 2010 RPC not connecting because port 6002 isn’t listening.

RPCPing tool reveals a connection problem.
rpcping -t ncacn_http -s server.domain.local -o RpcProxy=mail.companydomain.com -P “username,domain,*” -I “username,domain,*” -H 1 -u 9 -a connect -F 3 -v 3 -R none -E

Telnet into 6002 reveals no connection.

netstat -ano | findstr 600

This shows 6001 and 6004, but not 6002.

Before re-installing RPC or disabling outlook anywhere, check to see if the service “Microsoft Exchange Address Book” is running.

That port is tied to : “Microsoft.Exchange.AddressBook.Service.exe”

Using the tool: https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com

will help verify connectivity.
